I am really amazed by the number of people who truly believe that peace is impossible--that we'll always have war in our lives somewhere. As long as people like that are around, we will always have war, sadly.
Perhaps I no longer hope because, as long as there are poor people needing food convinced that an altruistic (or liberating) army is the answer to their position in life and that throwing away their life for an artificially maintained cause is "patriotic" and "heroic" AND, the intense greed behind the war machine continuos to grow ever un-satiated we will have war. There are no "enlightenment" eras coming to save us from this hell - the good of this planet have been mesmerized into imbecile bliss and pacivity.
There is only wishing... and, being the change you want, the best you can manage in order to survive... with some dignity.
