The Weekend Exhibit At Fraser Downs
This one took the First Prize
(dodo me, forgot to record name of artist (?) - will do later!)

Second Prize - centre back

I decided on Saturday afternoon to make my way over to the racetracks, a four hour round trip by bus. Well worth it, as I have never been to Fraser Downs proper.
I found a wonderful, spanking- new facility, comfortably appointed (colourful) with its diverse amenities.
It pleased me to walk through the front doors and immediately catch a glace of my works at the other end of the large foyer.
The very dedicated and gracious Eileen Gratland, Council President, was minding the show.

I was enormously pleased with the care and placement of my works, and the way the entire exhibit was placed. With permission, I had the opportunity to take some photos - with the promise not to include any one person... privacy rules and such – which was a bit of a challenge, since a numbers of people were milling about.
It was a productive trip also, which afforded me the possibility to assess first hand the nature of this type of “calls for entry” – green as I am in all of this!
I found, logically so, that what is of outmost importance is not only "the topic", but how it is addressed, such as horse and harness racing vs. one or more specific drivers and specific location. Noted for future calls.

Have no idea at this point if either one of them sold or not – would be nice – however, without any doubt, it was a great experience and learning process.

(I am not sure if I am going to finish the two remaining sketches or, dive into jewellery making that need my attetnion right now.)

Thank all for your kind support!

I really do!
I had no idea that you had to travel so far to get there, did you stay and watch races?

Beautiful art work... of course you can always finish your sketches another time but i'm sure and positive i would buy your work just to hang up in my house and say "he mom, dad i know this girl. she is a friend of mine." teehee... i'd do it because i like your artwork.

I have found a person i think that speaks spanish so i thought i would let you check him out.

Hi Sandy,
No, I left at 4:00PM
The bus goes from Cloverdale to North Surrey (Surrey Centre to transfer every half hour to White Rock!) and IT IS the un-safest hub in the entire lower mainland!
The downtown Eastside is safer...
I avoid being around after dark.

So, unfortunately I did not get to enjoy betting on the $100.000.00 smuckaroos purse just coming up.

Which “one” of the three you like the best?
You know - it IS very subjective. There were some really nice works there.
Next year.

Thanks for dropping by.
Love and joy

I do love your paintings Angeldust, I think "The One Left Behind" is my favourite though. :)
What a long journey you had, sorry you had to miss the races that would have been fun.
Seeing your beautiful work has given me the bug and I want to start painting again. Only landscapes I'm afraid, but its the enjoyment and relaxation with me.

Hello Kora
They are both Portuguese.
You must try to respond in English as they might have an inkling…
Other than that I donno know what you like me to do (?)

Sandy - thank you for the "UK" clarification.

I was trying to keep you appart by checking source before responding.

It is the first time I see this "coincidence", which I imagine is bound to happen.

I like them all.
Did not enter "All Out" because is is a composite of various tracks - I think it was wise to follow my instincts at the last minute...

Thank you for your support.
It does make a huge difference to have this kind of feedback.

Love and joy
