END OF SEASON....
Sometime, yesterday afternoon - almost simultaneously - my body and mind made it clear to me that they would not take any more...!
It ALL came to an absolute and screeching halt.
It has been awfully intense and rewarding and draining and fulfilling and a new twist at every turn adventure since April.
My body and mind have been in "high alert" since. Well, as I said, until yesterday when I realized that no matter how much I wanted and made a commitment to participate in the Hydrangea Festival, it just was NOT going to happen!
This morning, a lazy wake up followed by pen and paper in hand got me out of the habitual bed sitting into an already warm an cozy balcony.
Only a couple of sentences into it my eyes wondered from the page in sheer delight as I was "discovering" this year's modest gardening efforts...
I was drawn to the lights, shadows, colours and small radiant blooms...
Something has turned in me, something has turned in my life.
The second cup of delicious coffee sent me for yesterday's/Friday paper (little, almost forgotten luxury)that for some reason comes around to us late in the evening now days; to my contentment, I found my open letter to the
City and pic of mural at the beach... click - definitely, fait accompli!
I am going to have wonderful time on the beach this weekend and - before the fall settles in for good...
Really missed you all.

= It was definitely a "Vanilla" kind of weekend - click to read poem

we are going to have spectacular weather this coming week - I imagine "overdue" after the bad 9 months and mediocre Summer...

I am absolutely ready for some quiet time!!!

I'm sorry you had such a mediocre summer- it was just heavenly here in Ontario, the best in many years.

All the best for many beach days ahead!

Hello dear Anne-MArie

We are making up for it this week!
It has been spectacular - althought - we are at this moment - down to our anckles in fog.

The fan has been taken out of the storage room.

Have been slaking a bit and feeling guilty as ther are so many things awaiting attention...

Thanks for being around, I really appreciate contact with "old" friends.

Love and joy to yous

i would love to get photographed against your mural too. The young married couple can't find a better

You have a haven there on your balcony. Things are what we make of them and see them as. I have a birdbath with rocks in it too.

I hope you will continue to feel better and also say "no" to what is too much for you. That can be difficult, but worthwhile. You have so much creative energy, but it's all still there, even when it's quiet.

Thank you for your kind words dear Ruth
- I have much improved since the 70's and 80's in the practice of "no"
- My mind runs away, but my body is getting slower to follow!
lol
- still, as you said, that creative energy is forever there, "simmering"...
:)

Love and joy to you

These are great pictures--they remind me that although I am geared up to enjoy a New England fall, I am going to miss the summer. I'm glad that you have enjoyed such a rigorous and stimulating experience these past several months-and congrats on the stuff in the paper, too.
